My exhibition titled Odyssey of Mine eyes in July 2012 was of my works done within the last 30 years. The exhibition consisted of photographs done from a Rollieflex Mamiya and the 35mm format cameras with Digital being the latest. The digital era began with a fuji S2 and S3 pro supporting Nikkor lenses and a Nikon 7000 as the latest. I was appointed the Nikon Brand Ambassador for Sri Lanka in 2012 and hence work on Nikon cameras. The exhibition had all digital prints done on an Epson printer and all images that were of 120 format was photographed by a Digital camera and edited on a computer software.
Obstacles along the way
The water gushes with all its steam
Oh to be free like a bird,
To go over and under bridges. Easy access to life and success in full measure
Facing gusty winds boldly
no threat to roof above our heads.
No tap for my cloths to wash each day.
Thank you Lord, for water flowing my way
No Beethoven or Mozart. but
Three Blind Mice is for me
Half open, Half Closed
Hesitant not Opportunists await
Although the wave rose so high,
So it recedes when it reaches shore
I shall not be afraid of the waves in life
for I know it is a fleeting blow
As evening descends we await our father’s boat;
Dear Child, A place of love a king did make. 22 years to complete.
A tired day, a cup of tea will regnuate me,
Let me rest a while to start work again
Here lies my call;
a ray of hope to our nation
I fall from trees to adorn these steps;
as offering to this holy place
The first light that breaks through;
permitting the dew to take a bow
Although the water loos so still.
How deep the bottom is our guess. Still waters run so deep it the cue that it suggests
I stand single on the plains;
No wind , rain or sun obstruct my ways ; I will stand tall and steady until my dying days.
First rays of light that strikes.. make it work towards your gain
May my sole rest in peace , whenI leave you all behind;
Fight we did to save our land. Bullets flying all around; Some lodged in us and we paid with lives. Its final post , buried in the ground
No boots to guard our legs.
Soles attacked by leeches and worms;
Toiling in labor , unknown to us to deliver the rice, that we all cherish
Rod cast for the bite
to his table; the meal will make
I am fortue to walk this land;
Bare feet touching the soil
My day starts early this morn;
to begin afresh
a new day’s dawned
hopes of catching fish for a living
Likened to the rippled reflection or obstructions in life
A storm looming in the sky,
The sun comes through with all its might,
Life is thus for us to take.
No matter what for us to face
I pray to you our tree of life
That gives me life and food to live.
I await for people to savor
this tranquil place of grand flavor
The freezing morn strikes us within
lets jog to keep our bodies warm
We set off to grab or food
as the early birds catches to worms.
Its a work day and our bus is on time.
Winding through the fields and meadows.
A brisk walk will keep us warm
and spread the warmth to the cold out there
Fog engulfed we do not see
what lies beyond each bend
Rain nor mist
We must reach
Our destination where our food awaits
As I bid farewell to the land
Sigh not as darkness sets in;
I’ll be back through now departed do rise and shine in the light of morn
Two girls share secrets beyond;
No not the pillars have ears
i am proud of this boat;
success it will bring me one day
I yearn to take it out to sea when I grow up some day
The sun creeps through the mist while casting heavy shadows
Run along, legs dug into sand
Give our hard fought soldiers the training for success
Although confined I do not falter
for comfort I have in my partner
Light fades out its time to go
End the day with my boat secured.
Hope I set my eyes on tomorrow
For life is uncertain as we all know
A gentle call may be the answer.
To beckon to work without any rancour
Glistering leaves from the recent rains and to feel the fresh spray on my face … is absolute champaign
We stand in our faith.
Rock solid as the Fort
Occasional vehicle that plied then, has now tripled over the years.
The pure air that we used to breathe is no more there I fear
Clouds roll by in the fury of winds.
But we stand united and strong
Future conquerors of the sea,
Learn it young on the rocks,
Waiting for the day for that call ,
yet so near yet so far
Evening sees the boats return,
Buffeted at sea by waves so high.
Each manned by a weary person,
Happy to land ashore at last
The marble of the floor , mirrors a twin reflection;
Sometimes a perfect, and not so others
To work our mothers and sisters go
,we linger to say goodbye,
out nets are ready for a catch, for what swims within our reach
Early morning ,as the sun strikes its time to get out and go for work.
Time to come home is the call by the mother,who has another to take care.
